PLANNING for next year, on Saturday January 14 at 2.15pm, Haslemere Museum hosts a visit by Laura Ponsonby who will talk on the history of Shulbrede Priory, the fascinating and remarkable Augustinian priory where her family has lived since 1902.
She will trace its history from its founding in 1190 to the present day, will talk about some of the interesting people connected with it, including the composer Hubert Parry, and will highlight the garden and its natural history. Miss Ponsonby is vice-president of the Haslemere Natural History Society and honorary botanist at Haslemere Museum.
The event is organised by the Haslemere Natural History Society jointly with the museum.
